Meet The Makers

An innovative collective of like-minded folks making useful and
enduring technology products

Born in Paris, Blandine began her musical education at a young age learning the piano. She arrived in
London in 2001 and rapidly developed an interest in choir conducting. She sang with the Ensemble
Vocal Français for a few years which gave her the opportunity to perform a wide range of choral
repertoires. She was a founding member of l’Ensemble Vocal de Notre Dame de France and became
its conductor in 2002. In 2010, she founded Les Fauristes, whose first performance was Fauré’s
Requiem at NDF and St James Spanish Place. Since then she has conducted the choir with orchestra
in London (Westminster Cathedral, St Patrick’s Church Soho, St Paul’s Knightsbridge, St Saviour’s
Pimlico and the French Protestant Church), at Quarr Abbey on the Isle of Wight, and in France
(Basilique Sainte Clotilde in Paris, Notre-Dame Church in Niort), performing Mozart’s Exultate
Jubilate, Vivaldi’s Magnificat, Gloria and Concerto No 8 for two violins from l’Estro Armonico, and
more recently Bach’s Magnificat and Christmas Cantata, Fauré’s Requiem and Purcell’s opera Dido &
Aeneas at the Steiner Theatre.

Maud MAESTRACCI

early music ensembles over the years: the Groupe Vocal Arpège in Bordeaux where she took part in
projects with leading French orchestras and conductors, the Warwick University Chamber Choir and

Consort, the English Chamber Choir, Ex Cathedra, Coro, and more recently Evoke (a newly
founded London chamber Choir). She has been a member of Les Fauristes since their inception in
2010, helping them rehearse and taking an active role in the choir’s vocal training, working hand in

receives singing training from Doriane Charron.

Doriane CHARRON-CHOMIAC de SAS

Singing Teacher and Coach

Doriane received a first prize at Montpellier Conservatoire (CNR). She was a soprano in Philippe
Herreweghe’s Chapelle Royale for several years, and also performed as a soloist in France and
abroad. During her career as a soloist, she perfected her skills both in early and contemporary music,
by working with some of the greatest conductors and singers such as Maurice Ohana, Montserrat
Figueras and Philippe Herreweghe. She developed her own teaching method based on the different
teachings she received (Feldenkrais and Alexander Technique, and methods by Jacqueline Bonnardot
or Richard Miller), to master all aspects of vocal technique. She now teaches singing in Niort, Paris
and London. Having a particular interest in working with amateur choirs, she is a vocal coach for
many choirs and regularly teaches in master classes in France and abroad. She recently acted as
Choir Master for the BNP Paribas choir, and rehearsed 150 beginner singers to sing Mozart’s
Requiem for a performance with Divertimento Symphonic Orchestra.
She has been working with les Fauristes since 2011,leading weekend workshops and giving individual training to the singers.
